Fuel Gas Best Management Practices

The fuel gas Best Management Practices (BMPs) were developed as a collaboration between industry, government and the service sector to improve energy efficiency in the upstream oil and gas industry, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving the economics of energy production.

The BMPs provide practical guidance on how to optimize the energy efficiency associated with unit operations employed in the industry. Their implementation can reduce fuel gas consumption from existing installed equipment by 10% or more.
